About us

Situated in the quiet surroundings of Kames Bay, Port Banntyne Marina offers a rural berthing facility with stunning views over the Cowal peninsula, miles away from the island's busy main ferry route.

With the tiny village of Port Bannatyne within a few steps of your mooring, you can find something to eat at The Port Cafe, the Russian Tavern or even in the Port Bannatyne Post Office!

Need some supplies? Pop into the Post Office where you can stock up on the essentials and canned provisions for your trip. Need a little more? Hop on the bus (bus stop is a short walk from the pontoons) for the island's main town of Rothesay.

Why not bring your golf clubs and head up the hill to Port Bannatyne Golf club and enjoy the fabulous views out over the Marina?

Got the kids? There is a small children's play area and park right across from the marina berthings with a petanque rink, or, jump on the bus into town and catch the Mount Stuart Express to the magnificent Victorian Gothic home of the Marquises of Bute. There's a larger children's play area out there - along with a Visitors Centre where you can enjoy a coffee and light lunch.

The Marina itself opened in April 2009 with the full complement of 100 berths rolled out through the year. All facilicites on site now! We have a dredged depth to 2.5m below Chart Datum which is suitable for all sizes of boat.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Marina!
